Yes, how are you all?

Friends, today in this blog, those who have DTH Connections in their homes, how do they work, where do they get TV Channels, which satellite they use, which frequency band is used. Which has an antenna attached to its body, which we call Shatri (Umbrella) in our local language, but what is its actual name?. You will go to this blog for the information of this great work.

Friends, in the early days, an antenna was installed on the side of your house, and the signal was given to this antenna by this tower located in your Jalandhar city, and with its help, you used to watch DD NATIONAL and DD INDIA channels.

And then the time came. C Band was started in 1996, and a very big antenna was used for its signal, but the energy at this frequency was very low (4.8 GHz) but this work was done by satellite.

And then came the time of Cable TV, cable TV used to have all the channels and all these channels were sent from their local operator, this cable operator had a very big network through which the channels came to the cable operator from the satellite. , and this cable operator used to get cable connection in their homes through wire but this technology was R.F (Radio Frequency) which did not show any channel clearly. But there was another problem, if there was a cable in my house or a nearby wire, then the cable would be stolen by putting a cut in the wire and sticking a needle etc. And then to prevent this theft, Set Top Box (STB) was started on 02/October/2003 and a card was placed in this box and whoever got the DTH connection, this card is registered in his name, and friends DTH full form is Direct to Home. And the Umbrella (Shatri) that is put on their houses, Receiving Antenna / Dish Antenna, in technical word is called Parabolic Antenna.

Receiving Antenna / Dish Antenna / Parabolic Antenna
Friends, in front of this Receiving Antenna, which we call a camera in our local language, it is actually called LNB, the full form of LNB is Low Noise Block Down Converter.LNB is Low Noise Block Down Converter
Come on, friends, now we understand where the channels are coming from in the Set of  Box, and friends, in today's time India, 6 Companies are providing TV channels to us. Airtel digital TV, Reliance digital, Videocon D2H, Dish TV, Tata Sky, Sun Direct.
Friends, I would like to tell here whether many of these companies have been sold and many have become merchants. But their names still go like this, So, friends, apart from these, the Government of India has also provided DD Free Dish, in which you get to watch many free channels, So there is no need to tell you about this because this dish service has been running for 15 years, Done.
So now it comes to the question whether all these companies but all of them have the same TV channels, and here comes (DBS) Direct broadcast satellite system, they have kept different networks like: PTC Network, Zee Network, Sony Entertainment has its own channels,
So these are sub broadcasters, and they have their own production houses, where they shoot their serials etc. and these people make a Punch / Roll of all these works. How many times ads have to be placed, and only after this sub plan is done, it is streamed and this sub is broadcasted through satellite. These DTH providers have kept their separate centers where they receive the signal coming from the satellite, and this signal is in an Encrypted form, no one can Decrypt it, except the set top box.

The DTH provider agrees with all these networks that we will show all your channels on our network, and then they get access to broadcasting, and then these companies get all the channels together at one place. Now these channels are available to DTH providers, but these companies have to get satellite for themselves to get the channel, and these companies take satellite on rent, they can spend crores of rupees to get these satellites on rent. that the rent has to be paid, and all the DTH providers in India take these satellites on rent from ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation), this is a government agency, ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) has placed satellites on the earth according to India's map and this sub is called Geostationary orbit. If ISRO does not have a satellite, then they lease the satellite from a foreign country (NASA,SES,Telesat) etc.
And the rest, whoever wants to get a satellite, will have to get it through ISRO, and this is the reason that the antenna of their dish is in different directions, so all these companies have rented different satellites, and that is why their dishes The antenna is set accordingly, and these satellites cover the whole of India for broadcasting, so wherever you are, you will get the signal. And a Transponder is attached to these satellites, which only broadcasts 40 channels, and the rest you know how many channels there are and according to that, the companies have to get transponders and the cost of one transponder is 10 crore rupees. is for one year, and if we talk about Tata Sky only, in 2005 and 2012, Tata Sky Company has acquired 2 satellites in which 12+12 transponders have also been acquired, and now you can calculate that one Tata Sky How much rent is the company paying, 10 crores for one Transponder and this company has 24.
So friends, now you must have realized that the channel is first given to the broadcaster and then to the DTH provider and then the DTH provider gives the channel to them according to their plan and this is how DBS works.

Channel Owner > DBS > Satellite > DTH

And you can socialize it like this,

Channel Owner > Satellite > DBS > Satellite > DTH

Friends, now it comes to the question that the channels are the same, but why different DTH providers give channels at different rates, and here, as many and as many channels as you subscribe, it means that you add money to your DTH plan. The DTH provider gives to the broadcasters and also earns from advertisement and along with that the profit goes to the people who watch their channel, and TRAI has also released a list of these TV channels. How many TV channels do they give to these Company, you can DOWNLOAD the PDF file of this list from here, in which you can see the MRP of these channels, and the rest of the friends, what is the choice of these Companies, have they given themselves channels? At what rate should be given, because as you have already told, these companies have to rent a satellite and it costs a lot, and apart from that they have to pay the cost of Customer service and Marketing. The thing about Set top box is that you have to take it yourself, it is not free and that is why these dish planes are available in different planes and coasts.
And friends, let me also tell you here that if you want to take the Indian dish to another country and run it, it will not happen, because these satellites are covering India only, they have covered your location by geostationary method. Satellite Tharuh which is rotating with the earth and its location is fixed and has a range and these satellites are at a distance of 22000 to 35000 KM from the earth and that is why their dish is closed when there is rainy season. The time becomes singnal week.
It comes with KU Band signal from Satellite to LNB, it produces Energy at high frequency. The signal transmission delay from the channel provider to you is 0.5 sec, the signal is transferred at the same speed.
According to the record of 2022, 40.0 million people use DD Free Dish,  Airtel Digital TV is watched by 17.86 Million people, TATA Play is watched by 23.44 Million people, Dish TV, D2H, Zing TV are now one and they are watched by 18.06 Million people, and SUN Direct is watched by 11.60 Million people.
You can see which company uses which satellite in this list. Click here to download all these files.
